Meet Harper Fisher

Every Friday throughout Under the Seapalooza, I'm going do a "meet a character from Wake" post, along with a giveaway of some of the character's favorite things. It's just a quick questionnaire that introduces the characters, as well as a pictures of actors that resemble how I imagined them.

This week, it's Harper Fisher, one of the main characters and Gemma's older sister in Wake.

Emmy Rossum as "Harper." I saw her on Shameless, without makeup, all harried taking care of kids and the house, and I was like, "Yep. That's Harper."

I Heart Rhinos

I got this email today, and I like rhinos, so I'm spreading the word. Teaching Phonemic Awareness with Sight Words

I have been meaning to make these activities for a while and I finally had the time to do it!  Every time I teach my class a new sight words, we always look at the phonemic sounds that go into it.  I decided to make task cards for a center game that will be sure to help reinforce the phonics that go into the sight words!  I made two sets of cards: pre-primer words and primer words. I can't wait to use this lesson plan with my Kindergarten students tomorrow!
