Go on a Leprechaun Hunt! (A Freebie!)

Image
Growing up, I wasn't a big fan of St. Patrick's Day... but last year, I fell in love with it!  I had my students make traps so that we could catch a leprechaun and then a leprechaun visited, leaving our classroom a mess !  The leprechaun even left us clues, sending us on a wild goose chase around the building... only to find out that the gold was in our classroom the whole time.  It was AMAZING! As one of my first items on TPT, I shared those clues as a freebie, but looking at them now, they are not so cute!  So of course, I had to fix them up!  Look at how cute they are now!    Click any of the pictures to download them for free! I also made a cute St. Patrick's Day handwriting book, which is only $2.  Be sure to check that out as well!

Gingerbread Handwriting Book! (4th Day of Giveaways!)

Image
Just because it's December doesn't mean that our handwriting is perfect yet (even though I wish it was!)  Use this cute little gingerbread book to help reinforce proper letter formation!   The numbered lines will help students write the letters properly, and the gingerbread theme is sure to catch their eye! The past few days, I had you guess my favorite Christmas story, movie, and song.  This time... guess where I'm going to be tomorrow to celebrate Christmas day!  My house, my parents house, or my in-laws house?  This time, everyone who guesses correctly will win, not just the first two people!   Update: Thanks to everyone for guessing!  This year we actually hosted Christmas at our house!  It was the first time we did it and I just loved hosting!!!  Congratulations Heather, Steph, and Pat!  Steph and Pat, please leave me a comment with your email address so I can send you the writing book!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Handwriting Book!

Image
I'm getting geared up for the beginning of the year and I decided to make some cutesy Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Handwriting pages!  You can click the picture below to grab it at TPT! Each of the pages has directions to help the kids write the letters.  I can't wait to do it with my kiddos, I think it will be a cute little booklet for them to keep! I'm so ready for the first week (even though it's not for a few more weeks)... even if I'm not ready for waking up at 5am!  Is everyone else getting ready for back to school or are you back in school already?  I find it so bizarre that across the U.S. we're all on different school schedules, but I guess it all works out somehow!  Even if it means we get to watch people talking about "5 days left" on their blog while we've still got 2 months left!  Right!?

The Handwriting Fairy!

Image
It's time... the handwriting fairy NEEDS to visit our classroom again!  The students have been writing longer pieces than they've even written before, but it's so sloppy that it's starting to drive me crazy!  I need to address this ASAP! I have to say, I love the Handwriting Fairy Pack from What the Teacher Wants (below) and it is 100% my inspiration for this post!  Please be sure to visit Rachelle's blog to get the original pack! Now, of course... being the tech-addict that I am... I needed to make a digital handwriting fairy to complement this post!  Here is what will be waiting on our class website for the students tomorrow! I plan on having her visit our class website quite a few times (with different messages, of course!)  I'm very excited to see the kids initial reaction to this Voki tomorrow! I also plan on using these labels as stickers for quick notes from the handwriting fairy! Note: This preview is hosted on Google Docs.  ...
