Quick and Easy Addition Game

Yikes!  I was looking at my recent posts this morning and so many of them are focused on technology.  Don't get me wrong... I love technology, but I love teaching as well!  I figured I'd share a quick picture of an addition game I did today.  It was so easy to make, and the kids had a blast doing it!


I kind of want to start a weekly feature for hands on activities... but I can't think of a cute name for it... any ideas?!  Maybe Friday Fun Day?"  Or "Hands-On Fun Friday?" 

What do you think I should call it? I'm open to any day of the week... not just Friday!!!

I Heart Rhinos

I got this email today, and I like rhinos, so I'm spreading the word. Teaching Phonemic Awareness with Sight Words

I have been meaning to make these activities for a while and I finally had the time to do it!  Every time I teach my class a new sight words, we always look at the phonemic sounds that go into it.  I decided to make task cards for a center game that will be sure to help reinforce the phonics that go into the sight words!  I made two sets of cards: pre-primer words and primer words. I can't wait to use this lesson plan with my Kindergarten students tomorrow!
